Cooperation
At the Institute of Security Studies, we emphasize the connection between teaching and practice. We believe that a true understanding of security arises only when theory meets real-world experience. That is why we work closely with experts from public administration, the business sector, and security institutions.
Our students complete professional internships directly at partner organizations, where they solve specific tasks related to their field of study. They are guided in their internships by both academic staff from the institute and experts from partner institutions. These experts often participate in teaching as external lecturers, passing on their experience and inspiring students to connect their knowledge with practice.
However, cooperation with the professional world does not end with students. The institute also develops long-term scientific and research activities that respond to the current needs of the public and private sectors. We engage in custom and contract research, participate in professional projects, and offer lifelong learning courses. These activities contribute not only to the growth of our academics’ expertise, but also to strengthening the prestige of the faculty.
Companies, institutions, and individual experts can get involved in various ways:
- as partner workplaces for student internships,
- through lectures based on practical experience or consultations on final theses,
- through cooperation on research and development projects,
- or by offering job opportunities to our students and graduates.
We cooperate with, among others:
- The Institute for Population Protection (Ministry of the Interior – General Directorate of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic),
- The Regional Authority of the Zlín Region,
- Components of the integrated rescue system, And other important partners in the Czech Republic and abroad.
We also maintain close contact with our graduates, who often return to us – whether as expert lecturers, consultants, or employers of our students.
