About us
Security affects all of us – at home, at work, and in society. At the Institute for Security Studies, we take a comprehensive approach to security. We believe that truly effective measures cannot be developed in isolation. That is why we combine different perspectives – from crisis management, civil protection, cyber and environmental security to ensuring safe operations. Our goal is to educate experts who understand risks, can predict, analyze, and manage them – in short, experts in societal security.
The Institute of Security offers a bachelor’s degree program in Risk Management and a follow-up master’s degree program in Security with a specialization in Risk Engineering. Students gain knowledge in the areas of risk assessment, economics, management, crisis communication, security policy, and cyber security. They will learn to work with modern software tools, analyze data, model scenarios, and map risks using geographic information systems.
The program is complemented by field trips, internships, and cooperation with organizations that ensure security in various areas of the public and private sectors.
