University of the Third Age
The University of the Third Age (U3V) is a set of courses designed for seniors. Teaching is realized in the form of lectures and seminars. Anyone receiving an old-age or disability pension can enroll in the program, and after the exemption, people over the age of 50 can do the same.
The standard length of study for obtaining a “Certificate of Completion of U3V” is 2 years. For each academic year, the candidate chooses and enrolls one year-long course to attend. The course is most often taught in the form of two-hour lessons, which take place every 14 days.
In the coming academic year 2019/2020, the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management offers the following courses within U3V:
- Man and health. Chapters from psychology for the third age, III. Psychology, physiology and lifestyle. Continuation of the course Chapters from Psychology I. and II.
- Man, state and law.
- Basics of viticulture, viticulture and evaluation of wines.
- English for seniors (basic course, teaching at three levels).
- Digital photography (practical seminars, photography).
All courses are taught in the Czech language.
