The Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management Has a New Dean. Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík Will Lead the Faculty
6. October 2026The Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management at Tomas Bata University in Zlín is entering a new phase. Today, the Academic Senate elected Prof. Ing. Vladimír Sedlařík, Ph.D., as the new dean. An experienced academic and former rector of TBU is taking the helm of the faculty; he aims to build on the achievements of the previous leadership while paving the way for the faculty’s further development.
After eight years, there is a change in leadership at the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management. Prof. Ing. Vladimír Sedlařík, Ph.D., will become the new dean, having won the confidence of the FLCM Academic Senate in the election.
Professor Sedlařík is no stranger to Tomas Bata University. From 2018 to 2022, he served as the university’s rector. Today, he is the director of the TBU Center for Polymer Systems and has long been engaged in academic, research, and teaching activities.
He arrives at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with a clear message: to continue what works, but not to rest on past achievements.
“I want to build on the work of Dean Zuzana Tučková and everything the faculty has managed to achieve. At the same time, I would like to take it a step further and seek new opportunities for its continued development,” said Prof. Sedlařík when announcing his candidacy.
The outgoing dean, Prof. Ing. Zuzana Tučková, Ph.D., led the faculty during a period when FlCM underwent significant growth and strengthened its position in the fields of logistics, crisis management, security, and civil protection. At the same time, the faculty expanded its collaboration with industry, professional institutions, and the public, and worked to raise its profile both within and outside TBU.
The new dean intends to build on these achievements.
His experience in university leadership could be a significant advantage for the faculty. Professor Sedlařík is familiar with the TBU environment not only as an academic and researcher but also from a top management position.
His appointment as head of the FLCM thus brings a combination of managerial experience, academic expertise, and a research background.
