Exercise “STADION” with the Czech Police

On Tuesday, 16 May 2023, our students took part in the large-scale exercise “STADION” in Prague, which was conducted under the tactics of the Integrated Rescue System.
The exercise, which focused on simulating various scenarios during sports matches and concerts, ranks among the largest exercises of this kind in the Czech Republic. During the exercise, various situations that could occur during such mass events were simulated.
One of the scenarios envisaged was, for example, an evacuation, where the prepared team tried to evacuate the visitors in a coordinated and efficient manner without unnecessary chaos. Another scenario was an active attacker who caused panic and the exercise participants had to quickly organize and cooperate with the Police and other emergency services.
Participation in the exercise was very useful for the students of the Public Protection study programme, both from a practical and theoretical point of view. Safety at sports and other mass events is very important. Thanks to such exercises, the preparedness of the IZS units for crisis situations is at a high level.
