LIPOO Laboratory

The LIPOO Laboratory is equipped with specialized software that supports a wide range of activities in the field of population protection. It assists us with risk analysis, modelling and evaluating crisis situations and emergencies, as well as monitoring the development of risk factors.
Simply put: we can simulate an industrial accident, determine the probability and consequences of a hazardous chemical release into the atmosphere, model floods, or simulate the evacuation of people from buildings.
Using additional tools, we analyse communication, interconnectedness and cooperation between the components of the Integrated Rescue System when responding to such events. The laboratory also includes software used by the Administration of State Material Reserves, a training CCTV surveillance system, and a municipal-level public warning and notification system.

The Laboratory of Information Support for Population Protection is used across all study programmes – not only during classes, but also for students’ qualification theses and creative projects.

We have certainly not mentioned everything – there is truly a lot. If you decide to study at FLKŘ, you will definitely spend time in this laboratory.

We primarily work with the following software tools:

  • Riskan
  • Terrex
  • Posim
  • Obnova
  • Emoff
  • Practis
  • Dispečink
  • ARGIS
  • PyroSim
  • Pathfinder

Cyber Security Laboratory

The Cyber Security Laboratory of the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management at Tomas Bata University in Zlín was established in cooperation with T-Soft, a.s. Its purpose is to support teaching and scientific activities in the field of cyber security and information security, with a strong focus on process-oriented approaches.
The laboratory is equipped with modern hardware and specialized software tools that enable us to address both current and future threats. Thanks to a high degree of customization – especially the ability to implement new scenarios – the laboratory can immediately react to dynamic developments, newly emerging threats and corresponding countermeasures.

We primarily work with the following software tools:

  • Riskan
  • Terrex
  • Practis
  • Practis GO
  • Situnet
  • Situboard

Open Source Technology Laboratory (LOST)

For this reason, each workstation is equipped not only with the commonly used commercial operating system Microsoft Windows 10, but also with Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.2, complemented by a wide range of valuable and freely available software tools. This environment is useful both in teaching and in the development of qualification theses and creative projects.

Below is a selection of open-source software available in the Linux Mint system:
