My Erasmus+ Journey in South Korea

Studying in South Korea had been my dream for a long time, so having the opportunity to experience it as a university student still feels very special to me.
Thanks to the Erasmus+ programme, a country that once seemed so far away became a place where I could actually study, live and experience everyday life.
My first study stay in South Korea took me to Kyungpook National University, where I spent a semester discovering a completely new academic and cultural environment.
During my studies there, I took courses such as Organizational Behavior, Marketing, Marketing Research and Korean Language.
Studying these subjects in an international setting allowed me to see familiar topics from a different perspective and experience a different approach to university education.
Learning Korean was particularly valuable because even basic knowledge of the language helped me feel closer to the country and its people.
My first semester convinced me that I wanted to return to South Korea and experience even more.
This semester, I have been given that opportunity and I am continuing my Korean journey at EWHA Womans University in Seoul.
Here, my studies focus on subjects such as Consumer Behavior and International Marketing, which complement my previous studies and give me another international perspective on my field.
Studying at EWHA also means experiencing university life in the heart of one of the most dynamic cities in the world.
For me, however, studying abroad is about much more than lectures and exams.
It is also about meeting students from different countries, making new friendships and learning how differently people can see the same world.
Together with other international students, I have had the opportunity to discover Seoul as well as many other fascinating places in South Korea.
I am constantly impressed by the contrast between modern architecture and technology and the country’s historical palaces, temples and traditional neighborhoods.
At the same time, South Korea offers beautiful natural landscapes that provide a completely different experience from the busy streets of its cities.
Travelling around the country has helped me understand Korean culture, traditions and everyday life in a way that would never be possible from books or social media alone.
Of course, living thousands of kilometers away from home also teaches you independence, adaptability and how to deal with situations you have never faced before.
Every new place, university experience and person I meet adds something different to my time here.
South Korea was once simply a country I dreamed of visiting, but thanks to Erasmus+, it has become an important part of my university experience and personal story.
If I have learned one thing from my two study stays here, it is that sometimes the opportunities that seem the furthest away can become real when you have the courage to take them.

ISSLIB 2026: International Students Connecting Sustainability, Logistics and Innovation

From 7 to 11 September 2026, the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management of Tomas Bata University in Zlín hosted the International Student Symposium in Logistics and Business – ISSLIB 2026, organised as an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP).

Seven years after its 2019 edition, ISSLIB made its long-awaited return to Uherské Hradiště in 2026, bringing together a new generation of international students and academics.

Under the theme “Sustainability, Circular Economy and Smart Logistics in Practice,” the symposium brought together 23 international students, academics from partner universities, and students and staff from TBU for a week of international collaboration, practical learning and cultural exchange.

Participants joined us from partner institutions in Slovenia, Croatia, Portugal and Poland, creating a truly international environment in which students worked in mixed teams on practical challenges related to sustainability, circular economy and smart logistics.

As Prof. Ing. Zuzana Tučková, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management and Programme Guarantor of ISSLIB 2026, highlighted:

“Sustainable logistics is not only about finding smarter ways to move goods and resources. It is about rethinking how we use them, how we cooperate, and what kind of future we want to create. ISSLIB gives young people from different countries the opportunity to turn these ideas into practical solutions – together.”

This philosophy was reflected throughout the programme, which combined expert lectures, international teamwork, company visits and hands-on experience. Participants had the opportunity to explore real-world approaches to logistics and sustainability, visit Czech companies and university facilities, and discover both Uherské Hradiště and Zlín.

A key part of ISSLIB 2026 was the international student project challenge. Working in multicultural teams, students developed their ideas throughout the week and presented their final projects in English before an international expert committee. Their solutions demonstrated creativity, teamwork and the ability to connect academic knowledge with real-world challenges.

ISSLIB 2026 was not only about logistics and sustainability. It was about bringing people together, sharing perspectives and learning from each other across borders. The symposium strengthened cooperation with our international partners while giving students an opportunity to experience what internationalisation at TBU means in practice.

We would like to thank all participating students, academics, partner universities, companies and colleagues who contributed to the success of ISSLIB 2026.

One week, different countries, shared challenges – and new international connections that continue beyond ISSLIB.
