Students will connect with practice at the iCareer 2025 Job Fair

Zlín, 2 April 2025 – The Faculty of Applied Informatics at Tomas Bata University in Zlín will host the 31st edition of the iCareer Job Fair, which will offer students a unique opportunity to meet leading employers, get valuable advice from experts and kick-start their careers while still studying.

The iCareer Fair is organised by the international student organisation IAESTE UTB Zlín and each year brings nearly three dozen companies from various sectors – from IT professionals, technology and finance to marketing and consulting – to the university environment. More than 600 students from all faculties of UTB are expected to attend, where they will be able to make contact with employers, find out what skills are most in demand on the labour market and gain inspiration for their future career direction.

How is AI changing the labour market? Threat or opportunity?

One of the key themes of this year’s event will be the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the labour market. AI is already changing the way companies operate, what skills they require and what professions will be most threatened or, conversely, enhanced by automation and digital transformation in the future. The topic will be the focus of the introductory technical lecture “The Impact of AI on the Labour Market – Threat or Opportunity?”, which will help students understand how to prepare for a rapidly changing work environment. Other lectures will further develop the theme of success in today’s labour market.

Practical workshops, photo shoots for CV and professional image

This year’s edition will offer even more opportunities for personal and professional growth. In addition to company presentations and individual consultations with recruiters, students can look forward to:

Workshop “How to LinkedIn” – experts will advise how to properly set up and improve your profile to attract the attention of potential employers.
Professional photo shoot for CV and LinkedIn – students will get a high quality portrait photo to help them stand out in the competition of applicants.
Career advice and consultation with experts – HR and personal branding specialists will advise you on how to present yourself well and impress in an interview.

Academic support

In order to give students the opportunity to attend the fair without unnecessary obstacles, the organisers ask academics to accept fair excuses. The fair is not just about job hunting – it is a key part of the professional development of students, who can gain valuable contacts and real insight into the job market.

Benefits for students and employers

“The iCareer fair is a bridge between theory and practice. Students can meet employers in person, find out what knowledge and skills are expected of them, and perhaps even arrange an internship or trainee programme. Our goal is to help young people succeed on the labour market and show them that they can start building a career while they are still studying,” says Martin Mikeska, President of IAESTE UTB Zlín.

Employers, in turn, will get the opportunity to make contact with promising students and graduates who can become valuable members of their teams.

We are looking forward to meeting you at iCareer 2025!
