Ostrava hosted the Czech Academic Firefighting Championships – TBU students among the best again!

At the turn of April and May, Ostrava became the venue for one of the most anticipated sporting competitions of the year – the Academic Fire Sports Championship of the Czech Republic.

As it was the case in the past year, our students from Tomas Bata University in Zlín, who represented the school under the auspices of the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management and the UTB Fire Sports Club, were also present.

They competed in three disciplines:
– 100 metres hurdles,
– 4×100 metres relay with hurdles,
– fire attack.

It was in the fire attack that our teams literally shone – with a great performance they won 2nd place!

Thanks to the balanced results across all disciplines, the men took 4th place in the overall standings, just behind strong teams from VŠB-TU Ostrava, SPŠD Plzeň and SPŠCH Pardubice.

Our girls’ team did not let themselves be embarrassed and took home a nice 5th place from Ostrava, which we can be rightly proud of.

Many thanks to the Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management, SDH Vnorovy and SDH Čeložnice for their support, lending of premises, materials and equipment. It would not have been possible without you!

Thank you to all the competitors for their commitment, fighting spirit and great representation of TBU and also to the team leaders Ing. Martin Džermanský, Ph.D. and Ing. Lukáš Snopek, Ph.D. for their leadership.

We are looking forward to the next year!
