New Partnership with Bhutan in Nature Conservation and Sustainability
13. November 2024A delegation of prominent scientists from several Czech universities and institutions, including experts from the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management at Tomas Bata University, recently visited Bhutan to discuss possibilities for collaboration with local partners.
During this visit, they had the opportunity to tour several key institutions, gaining a deeper understanding of Bhutan’s unique environment and strengthening mutual ties, not only in the field of education but also in other areas of shared interest.
Various potential collaboration areas were identified during the five-day mission – ranging from joint research projects on current environmental topics to student and faculty exchanges.
This initiative promises to enrich the research landscape of both countries and foster cultural exchange. Projects focused on the exchange of knowledge and experience have the potential to build a strong partnership with mutual benefits over time.
The delegation expressed its gratitude to Bhutanese institutions, especially the Bhutan Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Royal University of Bhutan, the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute of Forestry Research and Training, the Bhutan Ecological Society, and the Royal Society for Protection of Nature, for their warm welcome and willingness to collaborate. They also emphasized that this visit would not have been possible without the support of the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, which significantly contributed to the mission’s realization and the support of long-term partnerships.
