Bridge between Himalayas and Moravia: FLKŘ hosts Bhutanese colleagues
30. April 2025The Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management of Tomas Bata University will welcome a nice international visit in early May. From 5 to 16 May, three representatives from Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan – Mr. Hari Prasad, Mr. Tshewang Dorji and Ms. Singye Lhamo – will visit us as part of academic cooperation.
We have prepared a varied professional and social programme for our Bhutanese colleagues. They can look forward to lectures for students and teachers on environmental protection, climate change and practical use of GIS technologies. There will also be excursions to South Moravia, visits to Zlín and Brno or friendly meetings with the faculty’s academic staff.
The programme will also include less formal, but no less important moments – for example, a debate with students, dinner in the home environment of one of the lecturers or participation in the legendary “Buzerák party”, which is organised annually by the Students’ Union of the FLKŘ.
“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to host our colleagues from Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan. We believe that their visit will bring not only enrichment of professional teaching but also cross-cultural understanding. Such a meeting reminds us that science, education and friendship have no boundaries. We believe that the guests from Bhutan will take away not only new knowledge, but also beautiful experiences and memories,” said the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Zuzana Tučková.
This visit is a proof of the developing international cooperation of FLKŘ and confirms the importance of the faculty in the field of global education. Joint activities open up space for new perspectives, experiences and friendships that cross geographical and cultural borders.
The faculty looks forward to more such projects and will continue to support initiatives that bridge the worlds of science, teaching and intercultural dialogue.
