Bhutanese academics visit the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management at TBU
27. May 2025What happens when two countries that are separated by seven time zones, thousands of miles and completely different cultures meet?
What emerges is an inspiring exchange of ideas, experiences and friendships. This is exactly what we experienced at the Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management at TBU when a delegation from Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan visited us in May – a small but inspiring Himalayan kingdom that measures success not by GDP but by the happiness of its people.
They spent two weeks with us as part of the Erasmus+ KA1 programme – and it was certainly not just a tourist visit. They lectured, discussed, planned. They shared their experiences of climate protection, sustainable development and how traditional wisdom can be combined with modern technology. And in return, we showed them what we can do – in research, teaching and hospitality.
It was during their stay in Uherské Hradiště that concrete ideas for further cooperation were born – from student and teacher exchanges to joint projects focused on digital education, crisis management or the creation of virtual classrooms to connect students across continents. The visit laid the foundations for a long-term partnership between RTC and TBU and opened up new opportunities for further international projects under the Erasmus+ programmes.
