Invitation to the lecture: Nuclear Security Up Close
13. March 2025On 25 March 2025, the Faculty will host an interesting professional event focusing on the activities of the State Office for Nuclear Safety (SUJB). Students will have the opportunity to learn about the role of this office in the state administration, its history and specific areas of activity.
The programme includes several thematic blocks:
The State Office for Nuclear Safety – its status, role and history.
Radiation Protection Section, Nuclear Installations Division – main activities and focus.
Seizures and discoveries of radioactive substances and nuclear materials – practical experience.
Monitoring of the radiation situation in the Czech Republic – methods and methods of monitoring.
Practical demonstration of hand-held measuring instruments used at the SAJB – possibility to personally test the measuring instruments.
This event will offer a unique opportunity to gain an insight into the field of nuclear safety and radiation protection and to obtain valuable information from practitioners.
The event will be led by Mgr. Jiří Havránek, Director of the Department of Radiation Protection in Industry at the SUJB.
