Professor Frantisek Bozek, Ph.D. is academic staff of the Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Faculty of Logistics and Crisis Management, the Department of Crisis Management, which deals mainly with the area of risk management, environmental security with a focus on technological, health, economic and traffic risks including proactive instruments of safety and environmental policy.

He graduated from the University of Chemical Technology in Pardubice, branch of study Macromolecular Substances Technology. After the graduation he was admitted to study for a doctoral degree of the Academy of Sciences of Czechoslovakia at the Macromolecular Chemistry Research Institute in Brno. In 1979 he submitted his dissertation and in 1988 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Chemical Technology in Pardubice in the branch called Macromolecular Chemistry. In 1993 he habilitated at the Military University of the Ground Forces in Vyskov. He was appointed on the professor post in the field “Protection of Troops and the Population” in 2002.

He publishes the results of his scientific works at home and abroad regularly. Until 2012, he was a member of the NATO/Army Subgroup/Environmental Training Working Group (NTG/ASG/ETWG) and NATO/Army Subgroup/Environmental Protection Working Group (NTG/ASG/EPWG) and a co-investigator of the Pilot studies funded by NATO/PfP and the US. Environmental Protection Agency (US. EPA). He is a member of the Society for Risk Analysis-Europe. International Risk Governance Council and several others international professional and scientific societies and co-author of many final scientific reports.
